Editorial responsibility

Tolga K. is the publisher and responsible editor for SEC Scorecard. Every Field Note, team-profile summary and explanatory page is reviewed before publication. The publisher is responsible for the claims, framing, source selection and corrections regardless of which software tools assist the production process.

The site distinguishes reported fact from analysis. Schedule times, venues, game status and final scores are presented as data. Predictions, interpretation and guidance are publisher opinion. A source link does not imply that the source endorses the analysis.

Schedule and score data

Current schedules and scores are retrieved from ESPN’s public college-football data. SEC Scorecard uses provider identifiers to match games with the sixteen conference programs and displays the provider’s current kickoff, venue, broadcast and status fields. The official SEC schedule, school athletics sites and the NCAA scoreboard may be used to resolve discrepancies.

Live data can change or arrive late. A listed time is not treated as confirmed when the source still marks it TBD. A result does not settle a prediction receipt until the game status is final. When sources conflict, SEC Scorecard favors the conference or participating schools for schedule announcements and verifies final results against a second public source when necessary.

Team profiles and historical facts

Program profiles combine manually maintained facts with links to the school’s official football site, ESPN’s live team page and a public historical reference. The “facts checked” date indicates the last broad review of coaches, venues, capacities, championships, award winners, traditions and rivalry labels.

Historical championship counts can vary because schools and governing bodies recognize different selectors. SEC Scorecard labels its figures as recognized titles and links to the program reference rather than presenting one universal count as uncontested. When a school’s own record book defines the figure differently, that official record receives priority and the wording is updated.

Original analysis

Field Notes is original publisher content. Articles are not copied or lightly rewritten from team sites, scoreboards or other publications. Public facts may frame a guide, but the structure, explanation and conclusions are SEC Scorecard’s own. Each article identifies the author, publication date and relevant source trail.

The guides favor explicit reasoning over certainty. They explain which observations might move a pick and which limits remain. SEC Scorecard does not publish gambling advice, promise outcomes or disguise a promotional placement as independent analysis.

Drafting and software assistance

Software tools may assist with outlining, copy editing, consistency checks, code generation and formatting. Assistance does not replace publisher review. Before publication, the responsible editor evaluates factual claims, removes unsupported assertions, checks source links and decides whether the page provides a useful answer for an SEC football reader.

No article is published merely to hit a word count or generate a search-engine landing page. When automation produces schedule or score fields, those fields are labeled by their function and kept separate from editorial prose. The reason for publishing remains the reader’s task: follow the week, make a clearer prediction or understand the receipt.

Corrections and updates

Readers can report a possible error through the feedback control or contact page. A useful report includes the page URL, disputed detail and a primary or authoritative source. The publisher checks the underlying data before changing the page.

Minor spelling and presentation fixes may be made without an update note. A material correction to an article’s factual basis should update the page date and, when the prior wording could meaningfully mislead a reader, include a correction note. Publication dates are not advanced simply to make old content appear new.

• Opinion: disagreement is not corrected as fact, but unsupported factual premises are.

Commercial independence

Sponsors and advertising partners do not receive advance approval of editorial coverage. Paid placements are labeled and kept outside prediction controls. SEC Scorecard does not sell favorable picks, rankings, team-profile language or corrections.
